Shore Fishing on Skye and Lochalsh
Armadale pier is a great choice for anglers with mobility issues or those with young kids who want easy access and safety but also want mind blowing scenery. Parking is available at the head of the pier before the cafe.

Fishing from here with lures or float fished baits will produce pollock from 6 inches long to 10lb. Wrasse are also present here as well as multitudes of micro species which are great fun for kids. Fishing on the bottom here can toss up just about anything. The usual dogfish, dabs and whiting will undoubtedly make an appearance if fishing small baits on the bottom. However larger baits will attract rays and spurdog with a good chance of conger eel.

Be wary though. Over the years a number of common skate have been hooked from this pier by unsuspecting anglers who have then been involved in a decidedly one sided fight. Unless you are geared up to fight and land one of these magnificent fish there is no point targeting them as the result is often leaving the poor fish attached to the trace and a length of line.
