Intending to get out fishing on the Saturday up to Staffin we sort of faffed about until 3 o'clock then decided to leave it until Sunday instead. We could not have made a worse decision. Woke up on the Sunday to hurricane force NNW winds combined with rain, hail and snow. Desperate to get out somewhere we knew the only place that would be semi sheltered was Loch Duich. Arrived just after high tide at a mark just up from Inverinate and set up with frozen squid on 1/0 pulley rigs. Weather was still bad but we both had floatation suits on which took the brunt of the cold for a while. Fishing was slow but we managed a Dogfish each about the 1lb mark. Rapidly losing feeling in our hands made us decide to call it quits and head back to Portree. Arrived home to a roaring fire and home-made fish and chips (made with our Pollock from the previous session). Not a bad way to end the day :-)
