Trip to Neist Point today, three of us fishing. Strong tides and a moderate swell meant holding bottom was tough on beachcasters. Fished mackerel on 6/0 pulley rigs (barbs crushed) to reasonable success with Dogfish and Spurdog being in large numbers. Strap conger of 13lb taken at slack water followed by a nice specimen Ling at just over 11lb (2lb off Scottish record) although was bitten through using 100lb wire by an unknown assailant. Usual Pollock up to 3lb and a nice ballan wrasse of about 2lb. Interesting visitor today was a Porbeagle Shark about 10ft from our feet feeding on the gutted pollack
