Loch Duich is a fairly deep sheltered loch holding a variety of species and is fishable in virtually any weather. Fishing anywhere off the A87 between Dornie and Inverinate puts you straight into deep water, plenty of parking along the roadside means you should be able to find somewhere to fish however busy it is. The 3 lumps of rock immediately before Eilean Donan Castle are great for pollock and wrasse. Float fished ragworm or spun jellyworm are the best option for these species. Fishing on the bottom here will produce a huge variety of species including Cod, Conger eel, Ling, Tadpole Fish, Thornback ray, Dogfish and the chance of Spurdog. Fish baits and squid are ideal but mussel seems to work well. Ground is very rough in places so gear up accordingly and expect to lose tackle.
Fishing on the opposite shore between Ratagan and Letterfearn puts you in shallower water but gives you a much better chance of targeting Ray species. Be mindful of where you park on this side though as you don't want to put the locals out by accidentally parking in someones driveway. Ground is much more forgiving here and generally a standard pulley rig will suffice, fish baits and squid are your best choice if targeting Ray or dogfish.
