Shore Fishing on Skye and Lochalsh
Talisker is a small settlement just over the hill from Carbost. Confusingly the Talisker Distillery isn't actually in Talisker but in Carbost. Talisker bay itself is a beautiful spot with a sandy shingle beach flanked by cliffs.

Fishing here with mussel or lugworm on the bottom will produce good flatfish including Flounder, Dab and Plaice. Ground is clean and with little tide so nothing fancy required rig wise. Fishing here after a strong Westerly wind when there is a strong surf on will produce Bass. Spinning a shad or sandeel on a leadhead along the bottom works well as does a bunch of lugworm or sandeel on a 2/0 hook attached to a 1oz lead.

To get here head to Carbost but keep an eye out for the turning to Talisker & Glen Eynort before you hit Carbost. After taking this turning it is a straight road until you reach Talisker itself. Park at the gravel parking area where it is signposted "to the beach". A short walk from here will take you straight to the beach.
